Explorers of Skies

made by : staro

tags : English, French, German, and Release

An updated vanilla-ish take on Explorers of Sky! Every dungeon has been revamped, with some contain special gimmicks (EX: Drenched Bluff has a dangerous 6th floor, Waterfall Cave is always rainy and max darkness, there's no food in the Northern Desert, etc.) The game is intended to have a higher difficulty curve, however it isn't unfair/kaizo-level hard.

Gameplay features currently include:

Fairy Type, Fairy type moves/gummis, new TMs, new moves from future generations, Regional Variants, easier Aegis Cave, Mt.Blaze and Mt.Thunder, new dungeons, new post-game events, Espurr partner, returning Luxio Tribe from Darkness/Time, new dungeon spawnlists, additional rewards for completing Zero Isles, four party limit in all Zero Isles with recruiting now enabled, all starter/partner families now have overworld sleeping sprites, reworked starter/partner movepools and abilities, an Alolan Vulpix as a choice for starter/partner, 4x Text speed, A quick tunnel from Sharpedo Bluff to Crossroads, the ability to revisit Future dungeons, Arceus event, patches created by End45 that improve gameplay and allow for more choice (Move Shortcuts, DisableTips, and SameType Partner), Patches by Irdkwia to let you select what Starter you want to play as, Complete Team Control to manually control your allies, quicker Spinda Café text, and much more planned!

Just a note: If you decide to use anything originally from Skies, for external use please reach out to me beforehand. I've seen others copy and paste features/scripts/art without asking and it rubs me the wrong way. If you take inspiration from something and don't directly copy/edit work that I've already done, use it however you like.

Any art or content not made by me is credited, do not steal, copy or reupload this content without the original artist's permission.

Skies is a passion project I made to be different and unique from other ROM hacks while retaining the original game's story and vision.

NEW THIS UPDATE (V1.15)

* Evolved Pokemon are more likely to spawn.

*** This is meant to be a fun, yet slightly difficult dungeon that changes every time you visit, while simultaneously allowing the player to recruit EVERY non-Legendary/Mythical Pokemon with enough visits.

* There is no reward for completing this, however this dungeon should add lots of replayability for players that want to play casually, or recruit every Pokemon.

* The TM can be found in the Kecleon Wares shop or in low ranking-job rewards.

  • Zero Isle South - Floor 99 now contains a Razor Fang, Razor Claw, Deepseascale and Deepseatooth in addition to the normal end of dungeon items.

Destiny Tower - Recruiting is enabled, however the Max party limit is one, and they must be sent back. Grudge traps have been removed, and Wonder tiles have been readded to floors (70-99) IQ skills are enabled and items are now allowed. Arceus is waiting at the pinnacle...

MAROWAK DOJO

- Revamped Marowak's Dojo:
*** The Dojo has been reavmped around enemy EXP values and enemy strength, this change has been made to prevent early/midgame players from overgrinding at the dojo while simultaneously offering more balance and a reason for post/postpost game players to enter.

*** Pokemon with lower EXP yields only show up on lower floors, while higher EXP yields show up on higher floors (TLDR: instead of just having 2 or 3 enemy pokemon for the entire dungeon that scale with levels) Additionally, this change should make all the dojos equally good, as they now all have around the same EXP yield per floor, this means a player can choose which dojo to take on that matches the type they need to defeat, instead of originally brute forcing the highest EXP yield dojos.

*** Every 5th floor can spawn a gummi matching the Dojo's typing.
*** Floor levels now go up from 1-10-20-25-35 to 5-15-25-35-50.

- Normal/Flying Dojo - Added Loudred, Starly, Pidgeotto, Aipom, Staraptor and Ambipom to the spawn list.

- Dark/Fire Maze - Added Vulpix, Magmar, and Houndoom to the spawn list.

- Rock/Water Maze - Removed Omanyte and Kabuto. Added Geodude, Mantyke, Nosepass, Wartortle, Graveler, Floatzel, Golem and Lapras to the spawn list.

- Grass Maze - Added Oddish, Exeggcute, Bellossom, Skiploom, Cacnea and Cacturne to the spawn list.

- Elec/Steel Maze - Added Bronzor, Pichu, Magneton, Ampharos and Voltorb to the spawn list.

- Ice/Ground Maze - Removed Phanpy. Added Diglett, Spheal, Seel, Sandshrew, Nidoking and Jynx to the spawn list.

- Fight/Psych Maze - Added Tyrogue, Croagunk, Hitmonlee, Kirlia, Hitmonchan and Gardevoir to the spawn list.

- Poison/Bug Maze - Removed Skorupi. Added Beedrill, Venomoth, Dustox, Weezing, Arbok and Yanmega to the spawn list.

- Dragon Maze - Removed Bagon. Added Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite to the spawn list.

- Ghost/Fairy Maze - Now is half Fairy half Ghost. Removed Misdreavus. Added Jigglypuff, Togetic, Shedninja, Shuppet, Sylveon, Gastly, Kirlia, Haunter and Wigglytuff to the spawn list.

- Final Maze - Removed Kabuto and replace it with Togetic for Fairy type representation in the dungeon. The dungeon now starts with enemies at level 50 and increases by increments of 5 every 12 floors.

EXCLUSIVE ITEMS

KECLEON SHOP CHANGES

Added Calciums, Zincs, Irons, Proteins, Joy Seeds, Ginsengs, and Nectar to the Kecleon Shop. These are rare items with significantly lower chances to appear. Nectars and Vitamins have a slightly higher change to appear than Joy Seeds or Ginsengs.

Added Evolution Items to Kecleon Orb Shop. All of them can appear in the shop and have an equal weight. Not super rare to find, but uncommon.

v1.15.1

download

So it seem's yesterday I boofed up and pushed out a release ...

So it seem's yesterday I boofed up and pushed out a release thinking an experimental new feature was going to work perfectly and it didn't. This led to crashes and frame drops for both emulator players and real hardware players. I apologize for any inconvenience, I should have done a third beta test before releasing. This new update remedies that and includes a few new bug fixes. Saves Should be alright to transfer over. You should update to this ASAP.

1.15.1:

  • Removed the ExpandPokeList and ChangeEvoSystem patches.
  • Added Play Rough to Espurr and both Meowstics
  • Fixed an issue with a Magmortor becoming the Aggron boss in Special Episode 4
  • Fixed Move Stat Displays not working with two-turn moves.
