Hello, it’s been several months since I released the demo of Explorers of Memories, and I have an update on the project. I’ve decided to put this project on hiatus (temporary, not permanent) for now. I have many things going on in my life right now, making it very tough for me to work on Memories. I will release minor updates to fix various issues or add portraits/starter animations to Pokémon, but there will be no major updates until things settle down. The next minor update should be posted next week, and fixes/adds the following: Added ‘Made by Skytemple’ screen Increased spawn rate of Chanseys in side path dungeons Miscellaneous text/cutscene fixes Added Misdreavus starter animations (by Emboarger) and Sableye Portraits (by Drawstuff, Phillips196)

This is a patch to my rom I do random tests Here lies a very early version of a turn based text combat system, and a fully functional pong using irdwika's button patch Known Issues: * There's no upper nor lower bound for how you can move on pong * Pong has a lot of ``if(){}`` checks, causing it to lag * Final abrupt ending at the turn-based combat + very glitchy scene Planned changes: * Add an AI to the enemy on pong * Add dificulties for the AI * Finish a normal, generic, replayable battle for the turn based text combat * Add items/special moves for the turn based combat

So I'm writing the update a little early this time to gradually move it to the first of the month instead of the middle. Something is starting to come together, but the execution is off until I can polish the animations to where I want them. For now, have an anecdote laced with hints, courtesy of inspiration from Max. :pikacheerful: - I remember when I was a kid, we would play a game on the playground kind of like a mix of tag and a zombie apocalypse. I know, we were... imaginative. One of us would start as a zombie (or "it", as it were), and then we would run to try and catch as many other kids as possible. The ones that were caught would then try to catch others, and so on and so forth. The last one that was left standing at the end of the game would be the winner. It was a really fun game for a couple of reasons. One, for getting rid of all of that youthful energy we had by running a metric ton. Two, for tricks. Hear me out. I adopted a strategy one time, and I'm not quite sure how I thought of it. I would be healthy, and I would hide from the growing horde for a bit... but then, when the coast was clear, I would go out into the field and start running after my friends like I was a zombie myself. It worked quite well, believe it or not! As long as I always never caught them since I was a slow runner, I could keep the guise up. The last person you would expect is someone you trust. Man, what did we read as kids? Now, what does this have to do with Sun Town's Secrets? Well... who can you trust if everyone around you begins to give chase? //And what is your proof, hm? Do you have any? ...well, I-I... Go on, yes. You say you saw him... fall? Was that it? Well, he's perfectly fine now. But something's... something's clearly- Clearly what, you gotta speak up, son. ...off. It's been a minute. 4 months since the last update and I've really slowed down on the betas. Honestly, I've been bombarded by work and this college semester, to the point to whatever little amount of time I had to myself I needed to use in a way to keep myself sane and do what makes me happy at that moment. Even though work on Skies slowed down physically, ideas and improvements kept coming to me mentally, which I would log/implement whenever I found time. I have significant plans for 1.18, 1.19 and 1.2 at the moment, however stress and time might slow me down again. Normally, I would show what I'm working on, but for once I'm not going to share what's upcoming, just know some pieces of the puzzle are already in place. Hey folks. Sorry for the lack of content. I had finally picked up a spot where I could learn some more about Skytemple, but a stupid mistake and clumsiness leaves me with broken headphones and a messed up audio jack. I'll still try to learn what I can, but morale is a bit low right now. At least this'll get me to focus on something productive. 🐝

Happy new year, everyone! I totally remembered to make semi-weekly announcements about working on this game. 😛 Don't worry. Although I haven't shown it - I've been working hard on Explorers of the Unknown. Life's been pretty busy, but I'm finding the time to pour my heart and soul into this game. It's been interesting seeing how I can put my vision of this project back in May to good use, as well as seeing the changes I've made. And believe me, some of those changes weren't easy to make, but I'm 100% certain they're for the better. I'm definitely learning a lot from this project, and I'm really glad I kept going. But I'll be real, my biggest inspiration to continue working on this project is you guys: the PMD/SkyTemple community and all of you who gave my game a try. I want this game to be my thanks to how much PMD and its community have changed my life. You are truly amazing. Cheers to a brand new (and hopefully better) year!
